Interview with the Cyberpunk ⚡
Codie Hale
December 4, 2020

Following Episode 8 of Adrenaline, SWW’s own Cole Graham sits down with Miss Lightning-in-a-Bottle herself, Codie Hale, to answer questions sent in by you, the SWW fans!
COLE: First question, coming from Matthew from Rhode Island, asks, “What do you want for Christmas, and how are you planning to celebrate the holiday?”
CODIE: Well, the SWW Women’s Championship would be a nice gift! (laughs) But no, I just like to surround myself with friends during the holidays. I don’t have much to go home to, so the people I travel with are the closest thing I have to family. We’ll probably go out to eat and drink, maybe do some Secret Santa. Then I’ll cap the night off in my hotel room by watching some Christmas movies. Die Hard’s my favorite.
COLE: Sounds like a good time! Next question is from Liam from Iowa, who asks--this is a good one, “Who is your favorite and least favorite person in SWW?”
CODIE: I think Steven Porter’s an underrated talent. I was the underdog too once, so I know how it feels to try your hardest and still have the world betting against you. But that doesn’t matter; because the guy always bets on himself, and he never gives up. I admire that attitude. It’s the same one that got me to where I am now.
CODIE: As for my least favorite? Garfield Wenworth.
COLE: (laughs) You answered that second one pretty quick.
CODIE: I know. And I generally try to be nice to everyone as a rule. But Wenworth is such a bratty snob. And he’s always getting everyone’s names wrong! Dude called me “Corey” once. I think he does it on purpose.
COLE: Maybe you should get him back.
CODIE: I should. Yo, Garfunkel Winslow! If you’re reading this: stop being a jerk! And if you say my name wrong one more time, we’re gonna throw hands!
COLE: Moving on. (laughs) Olivia from New York asks, “Do you have anyone special to spend the holiday with?”
CODIE: You mean besides just friends? No. There is no Mr. Hale. I’m a single Pringle. I feel like I’m too preoccupied with everything going on in my life and career right now to settle into any sort of relationship. But, I mean… If the right guy ever happens along, who knows?
COLE: Next question is from Madison from Colorado, who would like to know, “What is your favorite ‘Cheat Day’ meal?”
CODIE: Easy! Chili cheese fries. With a Power Tea. It’s like LIGHTNING in a Bottle!
COLE: Uh… what?
CODIE: Oh, sorry. Power Tea is my sponsor. I get paid every time I use their slogan. (laughs)
COLE: Andres from Texas asks, “If you could form a tag team with anyone in SWW, who would you choose and why?”
CODIE: Ragnarok, definitely. I like his style, both in the ring and out. And I think we’d have great chemistry as a tag team. We’d probably be called “Future Shock” or something.
COLE: Okay, last question. Coming in from Hannah from Michigan. I can already tell this one’s going to be tough to answer. She wants to know, “What is your biggest fear?”
CODIE: Ooh, that is a hard one. It takes a lot to really shake me mentally these days. I’ve gotten used to stepping out of my comfort zone, both in the ring and out. I do still get pre-match jitters every once in a while. I mean, when it’s a big match with a lot on the line, and you know you’re gonna be feeling those bright lights and those thousands of pairs of eyes on you, that kind of pressure and need to win can keep you up at night, fearless or not. And there’s been once or twice during those sleepless nights I’ve had that dream--you know the one. Where you show up to school or the mall or some other public place in your underwear and everyone’s staring?
COLE: I know what you’re talking about. I hate those dreams!
CODIE: Me too! They’re the worst. (laughs) Especially when you dream yourself on the stage or in the ring. I know it sounds stupid and mundane, but if I had to name one fear I have, it’s probably that.
COLE: Doesn’t sound stupid at all. If anything, I’m sure a lot of our readers will find it pretty relatable!
COLE: I know I said that was the last question, but given your answer I’d like to cap this interview off with one more, if that’s okay.
CODIE: Shoot.
COLE: Do you think you’ll be having any pre-match jitters over your impending match with Ashba at Sinister Intent?
CODIE: Ashba? Not a chance. She wishes she could make me that nervous. (laughs) I’ve been preparing for a match with the Night Mother for too long, and I know all her secrets. I can handle any kicks, tricks, and stipulations she throws at me. If anyone should be concerned going into Sinister Intent, it’s her.
